Side Steps
The picture on the right shows a "3 RISER SIDE STEP". This step will require a railing up the risers and along the landing with a railing across the back. (Cross rails will bolt on right or left). To find the proper RAILINGS and price, you should:
- Follow steps 1, 2 and 3 from conventional steps above.
- Now measure the length of the landing (landing length is "A"). You now add 4" to "A" - this insures that you keep the railings as close to the edge of the step as possible. In the picture "A" is 55" + 4" = 59". We have a 3 riser step and we want a 36" high railing, so from the price list find "36" HIGH RAILINGS FOR 3 RISER STEPS" order a 3R60-36. (Read Note Above)
- Now measure the FULL depth of the step "B". In the picture "B" is 48 inches. We want a cross rail to bolt to the 3R60-36 we ordered in step 2, 50 from the price list find "36" HIGH CROSS RAILS" order a CP50-36. This cross rail fits "Side Steps" with "B" from 46 to 50 inches and allows for the railing it bolts to, to sit 4" in from the edge of the step. Railings required for the picture are a 3R60-36 and a CP50-36.
ALWAYS COUNT ALL RISERS AND USE FULL LANDING MEASUREMENTS.
ARTISTIC HAS MADE ALL ALLOWANCES REQUIRED. CHECK BUILDING CODES
TO DETERMINE RAIL HEIGHT REQUIREMENTS.
